Digital distribution is a complicated subject we’re happy to explain, debate or discuss at the drop of a hat. But if you’re in a hurry here’s the bottom line: We’re happy to provide our customers with solid solutions that work for their product because there is no one-size-fits-all solutions.

If you sell a lot of CDs and tour, you can probably do pretty well in places like Amazon and iTunes, so you need a package that charges a flat annual fee and low or no percentage of your overall sales (which could be substantial with any effort or luck). We’ve got you covered with a Tunecore-based solution.
If you sell fewer than 200 CDs/year, and don’t tour, you need a platform that charges you no or low fees up front and a percentage of each sale (the classic CDBaby thang) – you’ll make a little less, but won’t have to re-up each year while maintaining presence with more of the worlds largest music retailers.
For our own on-label titles, we rely primarily on IODA (www.iodalliance.com) for digital distribution. The premiere indie-oriented digital distributor, IODA’s gotten good enough to handle major label titles as well. They’re the best in the business, and getting our music on many more outlets than vanity-vendors like CD Baby, Nimbit or even Tunecore.
If you work with us in mastering or media design, here’s the good news: Digital Distribution comes included with most full length packages, or at a discount for shorter projects.
Most customers choose TuneCore option – we work with working bands who can’t afford to give up continuous shares of their sales. Others choose our distribution partner, IODA to coordinate marketing and promotions, or use the capabilities of their affiliated physical distro, RED. Together these options provide the best value and most powerful platform for indie artists to sell music online.
